Hello Fall!

I debated long and hard about the best way to start this blog.  I could do the typical "Hello!  My name is ..." post, but I realized you can learn the same thing from reading the About Me section.  So I decided the best way would be to jump right in and write about my day and what has been going on in The Gravell household!

Today we woke up to an amazing 75 degree home!  It was amazing to say the least!  Texas in the summer is never much fun.  While the rest of the world is spending time outdoors, hiking, going to the beach and getting a beautiful, golden tan, we are hiding indoors with the blinds closed in an attempt to escape the painfully hot weather.  But today we experienced the first wave of relief as it only got into the 80's!  Walking outside you can see the joy in everyone's face as we all emerge to enjoy the sun rather then flee from it, our family included!  I put E in her hiking backpack and we were off to the park, one of E's favorite places!

First thing first, we immediately went to the swing!  E absolutely loves the swings and I love seeing her big smiles and hearing her incredibly adorable screams and giggles.

After a couple of minutes of swinging we went to the 'big kid' playground.  Of course the park and playground were packed with moms and kids desperate to play outside!  Although E isn't quite big enough to play by herself, I followed her around and she seemed to have a good time.  We spent lots of time practicing walking ... that was until we discovered Aunt Kristin on the slide.  Then alllllll she wanted to do was slide!  Her initial reaction was fear, but the minute I scooped her up at the end and tossed her into the air she squeeled with delight!  After about half an hour of playing my precious little one was exhausted, so I knew it was time to put her back in her backpack and head home, after stopping for a snack and apple juice of course!

All in all it was a great morning, the kind of morning that makes me grateful to be a mommy!  There is nothing quite like spending time with your baby, watching them grow, learn and experience the world around them.  It still amazes me that my little wobbly-walking toddler with her pigtails and juice box was a newborn just a year ago.  How quickly time goes by!  What a blessing children are!

So for all the mommies out there ... take time to play outside this week!  The weather is perfect and you'll never regret the time you invest in your little one!

Love,
Stephanie
